[ Zack smiles when Sephiroth gets up and heads back into the kitchen. Cloud's already scooped a portion of stew into his own bowl, though he's not started eating yet.
He's a little surprised to see Sephiroth actually joining them, but he smiles at him too. Despite his lingering annoyance about the counter, he does like it when they can convince Sephiroth to actually act like he's a part of this household too. Because he is.
Zack takes a seat across from Cloud, giving Sephiroth the option to seat himself next to the blond. ]
[How nice of Zack to give him that option, one that he'll take even if it always runs the risk of Cloud getting overly annoyed and just stabbing him at the dinner table.
That hasn't happened yet, but that's not to say there haven't been threats. One day Sephiroth will probably push enough buttons to make that happen.]

[He says rather nonchalantly like he dares either of them to even suggest that they're going to stop him.]
Some monsters have appeared around the outskirts of midgar. "You" agreed to destroy them before they become a bigger threat.
[And by that he means, Sephiroth agreed to do some mercenary work as Cloud. Not because he wants to help anyone but because he wants to go do something that involves fighting.]
[ Cloud's expression darkens somewhat. It's not the first time Sephiroth's taken on his form to go out, which usually means Cloud has to do damage control with whoever Sephiroth managed to offend, or intimidate. Or both.
Before he can say anything though, Zack speaks first. ]

[ His voice is casual as he starts to eat. He doesn't want an argument at the dinner table, and well, it's kind of become his role to mediate between Cloud and Sephiroth. They are both ridiculously stubborn individuals. ]
[ Zack can be stubborn too. Both of them know it's not worth the effort to try and convince Sephiroth not to go out. Besides that, neither of them really want to forbid him either.
They don't want him to feel like he's a prisoner in their home, and they don't want him to get too frustrated by just sitting at home all day long. It's also definitely better that he go out and take his anger out on some monsters than the alternative. Still, keeping an eye on Sephiroth is something they feel the need to do. He's still unpredictable and a potential threat. ]
[Fine. Sephiroth will eat some. He puts a little into his bowl, but instead of being like Zack and stuffing his face, Sephiroth eats pretty slowly. And silently.
Which isn't too unusual. He already said what he wanted to earlier ... and is slightly annoyed at the insistence that he have an escort in doing a simple monster extermination job.
It's not like the two of them exactly know all the times he's gone out on his own. He doesn't always cause trouble with the humans. If possible, he avoids them. It's not his fault kids seem attracted to bother Cloud.]
[ At least Sephiroth is eating. Cloud might just have been a little offended if he hadn't.
Zack does most of the talking during dinner, not uncommon, and tries to engage both Cloud and Sephiroth. Cloud is, as always, more receptive to Zack's conversational attempts, especially when it's interspersed with compliments about the food. Zack's never shy about going for seconds either (after making sure no one else wants more). Still, Cloud made enough for there to be leftovers even after Zack's massive appetite has been sated.
As per usual, Zack starts to do clear off the table once they've finished eating. This time though, he also turns to Sephiroth. ]
[He'll be nice enough to take his own bowl to the sink, but that's as far as it's going to get. He's still in a little bit of a mood, which is also normal. They should just be glad he joined them in this at all.
He fully plans on just going back out into the living room.]
[Sephiroth had placed a hand on the top of a nearby chair while the conversation went on. But then the two had to start again. Somehow the top of the chair just shatters, and Sephiroth has to catch himself before losing his balance.
He stares at the result for a brief second before leaving the room without saying anything.]
[ Both Zack and Cloud startle as the chair suddenly shatters under Sephiroth's grip. They exchange glances. Maybe Cloud should be mad that Sephiroth keeps breaking things today, but he's easily made the connection.
Sephiroth is jealous.
He gives Zack a knowing look before turning to follow Sephiroth. ]
[He knows it's not that, but he's going to avoid this conversation all together and instead sit on the couch half leaning his face against the palm of his hand. And just stare at the TV.
And try to not touch anything and have more of that happen.]
