QUESTIONNAIRE:

What does family mean to you and who do you consider a part of your family?

Sephiroth actually doesn't fully understand what it's like to have a family. He never really had one growing up. Never knew his mother or his father. He was told his mother was named Jenova and she died in childbirth. (A lie he didn't find out until later) His father he actually worked with, though he didn't know they were related. He actually despised his own father without ever knowing. In his mind he had some sort of idealistic view of who his mother probably was.

Jenova turned out to actually be an alien lifeform that crashed on the planet thousands of years ago. Scientists believed she was part of an ancient human species known as the cetra and used her DNA to experiment on Sephiroth while he was still in the womb. When Sephiroth learned about this and discovered the body of Jenova, he actually latched onto her as being his mother. Even after fully learning her true origins, he still clings to her the same way. She's probably the only person he considers part of his family, though his birth mother is still out there. He doesn't really care about anyone else.

Even when he created other beings that were part of him, he didn't consider them to be of any importance. They were made from parts of his own essence, but he saw them as puppets and nothing else. Only Jenova is family.

What are your greatest regrets, if you have any? What would you have done differently?

His biggest regret is ever trusting or believing anything the company (Shinra) he worked for told him. He followed orders, doing whatever they wanted, and was practically treated as a living weapon. He hates what happened to him, most of the people involved, and in general just everything that went on there. He no longer considers that apart of who he is, so he literally gave up his own memories of the whole time period -- any missions, friends, childhood. All gone.

With that said, he wouldn't do anything to change that point in time as he's become far too obsessed with his nemesis. If he did anything differently, Cloud might not end up enhanced it could break their bond and that's something he'd never allow to happen. He'd rather live with that regret than ever do anything about it.

How do you react to betrayal? How severe must a betrayal be for you to consider it such?

Sephiroth does not take betrayal lightly. In fact it is something he takes very seriously and personally. He will not accept it in any fashion. Now something as small as a lie might only irritate him, but an action taken? That is enough for him to turn completely against someone all together. In fact that's what happens to him when he lost his mind after finding out the truth of his origins. He felt that the people he worked for and by extension humanity itself betrayed him.

As a result he burnt down a village, killing a bunch of people in the process. He later decided that he would become god of the planet and that humanity mostly needs to be wiped off the face of it.

Those who betray him, especially on a personal level, are the ones he won't hesitate to kill given the chance.

How do you define "failure"? How do you deal with the consequences of failure, from light to severe?

For himself, Sephiroth doesn't actually acknowledge failure. He never fails, not truly anyway. He moves the goal post and acts like it either never mattered at all or was part of the plan all along. This only applies to himself and no one else. Unless it personally affects him, he won't really care if another person fails, but he will point it out. In fact, he'll make a note of it to possibly use against them at some point in the future.

In his own failures, even when they were as severe as his own death he considered them only set backs. In death he grows stronger and will continually rise again more powerful than before. Of course all of this is what he tells himself, when in reality it makes him very angry. And that is kind of why he became rather obsessed with Cloud and tormenting his very existence. Cloud killed him, so now Cloud must suffer. But in his mind he justifies it all as though this things are supposed to be.

He's not angry at his own failures and deals with the consequences by obsessively going for revenge, no not at all. Cloud is simply his nemesis and must fight him for the rest of eternity. In other words, he does not deal with failure or the consequences of failing in any sort of healthy productive way.

An enemy of your faction has asked for a meeting, proposing a truce of sorts to deal with a greater threat. On one hand, there is indeed a threat at hand, but on the other, this person double-crossing you is just as likely an outcome. Do you agree to the meeting? Do you trust them?

POWERS & ABILITIES:
Super Human - Due to being enhanced at birth he is stronger and faster than normal humans. Thus he is able to move and wield a weapon no one else is said to be able to use effectively. This also aides him in hand-to-hand combat against regular humans though he rarely goes for that method of fighting.

Sword - He is an excellent swordsman, wielding a nodachi known as the Masamune - a blade that is very long (estimated at maybe around 7 feet). He can empower this sword with energy to increase its strength. Though he can do this and also manifest the weapon out if thin air the sword itself holds no magical abilities.

Flight - He can manifest a single large black wing from his left shoulder that he can use to fly … and actually he can fly without it as well. But he does pop the wing out for the most part when he usually goes to fly around.

Telekinatic - After falling into the lifestream he gained some psychic abilities such as communicating telepathically or creating illusions. He can move objects. It is most likely because of these abilities that he can fly without a wing.

Magic - Before losing his mind and falling into the lifestream he had to use the physical objects known as Materia to cast spells such as Fire or Blizzard. After his death he absorbed an incredible amount of knowledge within the lifestream and no longer needs physical materia to use these abilities. The main magical abilities he uses encompass the elements of: fire, ice, air, lighting.

Fire - Can toss a hand sized fireball an a target that explodes into a burst of flames upon impact. This does not seem to cause the area around to catch on fire though or burn anything to death.

Ice - Creates a small projectile of ice that expands into a larger (a few feet bigger than a person in diameter) ball of ice upon hitting something. After it expands it'll hang in the air for a few seconds until it explodes sending ice shards everywhere. It does not freeze a target in place, however.

Air - Sends a ball that explodes into a small whirlwind after a second. This can lift a normal sized human into the air, but the ability doesn't last long enough to do much else beyond knocking someone off their feet.

Lightning - Simply sends a bolt of electricity out at an intended target. Nothing too dramatic here, it'd be much like getting struck by lightning only not powerful enough to fry a person in place. It'd hurt though.

While normal materia type abilities have three levels of power, Sephiroth casts them at the highest level by default. Lower levels would simply be a smaller ball of fire, the ice projectile does not expand as much, the whirlwind barely becomes noticeable, lightning being a much smaller bolt of electricity.

All of the abilities have a casting time of a few seconds and can be interrupted. He has to concentrate for those seconds in order to use them. He also can't really move around during it either.

He will be pretty much nerfed into the ground to start with other than his fighting skills and be roughly the equivalent of a regular human athlete as far as speed and strength.

SUITABILITY: Very little bothers Sephiroth, this extends to any sort of violence, fighting, or just darker aspects of life. Midgar the city he lived in most of his life was filled with crime, poverty, corruption at every level. He worked for a company that turned out to be especially greedy and conducted experiments on people to further their goals. Nothing in this city will really surprise him all that much.

Sephiroth himself was experimented on by the company he worked for, fought in wars, killed many people and monsters, and is a very good manipulator. He's highly strategic enjoys bending others by getting them to doubt what they believe in. Otherwise since he believes humans to be parasites unworthy of life, his morals in dealing with them are very much on the questionable side. (At the same time, since he views most humans as below him, he won't go mindlessly killing anyone).

He's also very, very curious about learning new things. So an entirely new setting will intrigue him a great deal.

FACTION SUITABILITY:

Shuten Clan - Sephiroth fully believes the same as this clan in that strength and will determine one's destiny. To him will is one of the strongest forces and how he pretty much exists. He's also physically strong, and an extremely skilled fighter -- which is something he highly enjoys. He'd be good dealing or participating in arenas since fighting is what he's done almost his entire life. He views personal strength as something highly important. Those weaker than him don't really matter. He also does not care for liars, and while he is a manipulator he tends to use the truth, only a twisted version of it.

Tamamo Clan - Freedom is very important to Sephiroth as it is something that he was denied for many years. Being able to do as he pleases is something he cherishes and would not like to give up. He's a cunning individual who knows how to use situations and others to his advantage which might make him of use to this clan. He knows how to feed into people's delusions and creating illusions to do this is actually a power he held. Not to mention he's very, very pretty and that might also aide him in other ways.

Sutoku Alliance - Sephiroth would fit in here really well as knowledge is something he holds in high regard. After he originally died and gained all sorts of wisdom (from the memories of everyone who ever lived), he never really went back from that. People need guidance from those who know things in order to survive. He guides others onto the path he feels they should be on, even if they're enemies. He's the cryptic type who shows up gives clues but only as much as he feels someone is privy to have. He doesn't give away too much information, just enough.

Department of the Enma - This would actually be a lot like what he used to do when he worked for Shinra. As a SOLDIER he carried out missions for the company to maintain order. Whether this be a dispute or some sort of conflict. He was one who'd be sent on those kinds of missions. If this meant killing, that's what he'd do. Fulfilling the task was the important part and that's what Sephritoh was very good at accomplishing. If the company wanted a mission to succeed they would send him. It helps that even now he does not really like chaos and prefers things to go as planned. Random, recklessness isn't something he thinks highly of and if he can do anything to dissuade it he will.
