[One would think that someone who had been stuck in the dream world for almost a year would be used to whatever curveballs it might throw, but Songerien had a way of surprising people, and that included Cloud.
He had done a fine job avoiding the colorful gumdrops flitting about the air, especially when it interfered with the work he was doing. At the very least he could see the mischievous creatures roaming about, but who could have anticipated the sweater that manifests on him.]
What the—
[The sweater falls loosely around him, neck hole enough to fit another person (I wonder who that could be), one side sagging past his shoulder, the opposite arm dangling close to the floor. He moves to pull it over it off and over his head when the sweater suddenly straightens up to float in the air before violently tugging him elsewhere, nearly knocking off his feet.
It takes everything to keep himself from falling over, still trying to remove the godforsaken sweater off, distracting him from any possible incoming foot traffic.
[Sephiroth was just minding his own business, possibly terrorizing some of the small creatures that inhabit the dreamworld. Either way he was doing something else when something -- or rather someone gets dragged towards him.]
Cloud.
[Though he says it as a statement, it's also kind of a question, even if he sees those blond spikes poking out from under the oversized sweater. Another point proving this place is nothing but nonsense. This seems to be some sort of mess Cloud has gotten himself into, that figures he cannot handle himself, even here.
Sephiroth looks rather smug about it, and reaches towards the sweater to yank it off when it envelops him too leaving the two of them somehow within the same article of clothing.]
[As much as Cloud struggled to free himself from the knitted confines of the sweater, his attempts came up empty almost as if the fabric was fighting him back as it dragged him to who-knows-where. There is barely any time for him to react when it suddenly stops and he hears a voice that sends a chill down his spine.]
Sephiroth.
[His reply is said through gritted teeth. There was no masking his disdain, especially when things couldn't get any worse. And then another violent tug occurs, and just like that he finds himself imprisoned in a none-too-cozy cocoon with his archnemesis.
Great.
Not replying to Sephiroth's greeting, he tries to pull the sweater off once more, only to find itself shimmying back on him to encase him again.]
That'd be too easy, wouldn't it?
[From the edge of the sweater, a tag slips out from underneath the folds, dangling by Sephiroth, away from Cloud's gaze: Get along for one hour.]
[While he sounds completely unbothered, he can't deny that the magic of this world is frustrating at times. Cloud being trapped with him is not something that all unsurprising, but the fact that this isn't his own doing is what's frustrating.
Ah, well.
Despite already being trapped in the sweater with Cloud, he manages to move slightly closer and leans down a bit.]
[As if the lack of personal space wasn't enough, Sephiroth just had to lean down closer. Cloud takes a step back, surprise apparent in his face, but it's gone as quickly as it appeared. It wasn't as if he could get very far considering the confines of the sweater.]
You're calling even this destiny? It's just another one of this place's tricks. Don't read more into it.
Oh? Then why, of all the people here, did it draw you to me and not another?
[Sephiroth might be enjoying this a little too much. It probably isn't destiny, and just a trick of this world, Cloud is probably right. But this is far too perfect of an opportunity.]
[Not that it was hard to mess with Cloud, really. As much as he tried to put up a tough front, there were some situations when he found himself flustered, needing to wing it to get through it.
Maybe it drew him to Sephiroth specifically because of that. Because being in such close quarters with him would mess with him more than he was willing to admit.
But considering how reluctant and antagonizing Cloud was being, a little scratch appears on the tag from earlier, remedying its initial instruction: Get along for onetwo hours.]
What would be gained by that, Cloud? If, as you said before, this whole place is part of your dream then it is your own mind that wants this. And if this is not a dream of your making, then what makes you so important that it'd target you?
[Of course, Sephiroth believes that even though Cloud won't admit it he is drawn to him because that's just how it is. And how it will always be. The whole puppet thing and all. Cloud will always come back to him and other obsessive thoughts that in no way make him a hypocrite.]
[It's not as if Cloud actually knew the answer to that. He didn't believe that this world consisted of just his own consciousness. It couldn't just be his own, not with everyone else around. But he does pick on something else that Sephiroth says.]
And I said it was just a dream, not that it was my dream.
[Important that is. That's what Cloud always wanted. And as if the conversation is now finished, Sephiroth is going to start walking and probably drag Cloud around with him. They're going to go where Sephiroth wants to go.]
Apologies for the suddenness of this message, but I chanced across your description of the nature of your -- planet, you called it? -- and found it to be very much like my own star.
[ Spring has sprung! And with that comes an array of different outdoor actives just waiting to be participated in! While the Flower Festival had come and gone for another year, the flowers that were popping up all around were just begging to be picked. And what kind of person would Lyria be if she could not fulfill their request?
There were a number of people she wanted to collect flowers for, after all... so off to work she went!
Equipped with one of her favorite sundresses and a basket fit for a princess, the blue haired girl settled herself in a field just on the outskirts of Reverein heading towards the direction of the lake. But with so many different flowers to choose from... where could she possibly start!?
Her eyes momentarily dart around the area until it lands on an unfamiliar stranger- maybe someone also looking to pick flowers, too? ]
Oh, excuse me! [ The girl calls out before trotting towards their direction. ] Do you think you could help me?
[He is not picking flowers, that is an Aerith thing that he will not engage with. But he is staring at them when the girl walks up to get his attention.
He looks down at her with a cat like gaze that's at least slightly judgemental. She hasn't done anything, but you know, humans.
Even so, he gestures lightly with a hand as he speaks.]
[ Perhaps she didn't quite notice it due to the far amount of distance between them when she approached, but the moment he speaks Lyria stops a bit in her tracks.
The tone at first was a little off putting, and the gaze has her keeping a bit of distance between them before she finally speaks up again.
Keeping her voice light and smile still present, the girl will gently gesture to the basket in her arms. ]
I was... looking for some flowers for my friends, but couldn't decide which color suits them best. There's supposedly a field not too far from here with beautiful rainbow flowers, but going by myself seems a bit dangerous. [ She wanted this to be a surprise, so of course she couldn't tell Tifa of Eustace. But now that she was here it was too late to turn back now! ] Do you mind walking with me? For just a little bit? I'd really like to find the flowers for them!
[For a moment Sephiroth is silent, not giving an answer. He has no reason to help this girl who seems to be looking for an escort.
But then again, if Cloud were to know about this it would drive him absolutely mad. Knowing he was here with someone so seemingly innocent that Sephiroth could kill at any given time, and him not being anywhere near to stop it.
Well, that in itself almost makes this worth it.
The corner of his lips cracks into the most subtle of smiles.]
[ Given his initial reaction to her arrival Lyria seems almost surprised when the words left Sephiroth's mouth. She pauses, her own mouth slightly agape but that soon turns into a full blown smile when he agrees.
She is normally good about reading people, but maybe she had it wrong?
Excitedly the young girl will bounce happily into the air once before rushing over to close the distance between them. She gazes up, noting his heigh in comparison to hers before twirling the basket in her arms. ]
Thank you so much! It shouldn't be too far, just around the other side of the lake! C'mon...! [ And off she goes...!!
Ah, but, not before whirling around and addressing herself full to him. ]
[This is easy. Too easy. Too easy to a point that it would be so far below him to actually harm her that he probably won't. But no one needs to know that.
Especially not Cloud who's being trolled has become Sephiroth's past time hobby.]
I am --
[A god]
Sephiroth.
[He'll follow behind her and even though he's not rushing or anything, being as tall as he is with such long legs means he doesn't really lag behind.]
Why are you wanting to gift your friends flowers? What purpose does it serve?
[ If she knew what you were really up to... you'd certainly get a good scolding! Especially given how cloud Cloud was to Tifa, who was like a mother to her-
But for now all she head on her mind was flowers, and it seemed as though Sephiroth had the same. ]
Sephiroth...? [ She repeats, the words strangely familiar on her tongue. Wasn't she... suppose to know that name? The tense feeling still remained, but she would try to bury it for a moment while still remaining on the side of caution.
She'll keep her distance in the front, casting a glance back ever so often as they walked. ]
Flowers have all sorts of different meanings! But mainly they are to show someone you care for them! I really wanted to show my appreciation to everyone who's been so kind to me, so thank you again for offering to walk with me.
[ Another pause before she glances ahead of her. Everything seemed clear for the time being, but she could never be too certain. ]
[Remember his name, Lyria. Everyone should know it.
Her flower explanation doesn't really mean anything to him. He gets the intention behind it, but also doesn't 'get' it. It might be from both being a socially awkward person who didn't get people all that much before he went crazy and from now considering himself a god above all.
Either way. Why? Picked flowers are temporary. Fragile. And die very easily.
That's how he sees it at least.
Her question though gives him pause.]
That is not something I've thought about. I don't have an answer for you.
[At least one he can remember. Maybe the person he was before had a favorite.]
[ It's a name not easily discussed, from what she gathered. Yet every time the name was spoken it brought about terrible emotions from others... could this person in front of her truly bring about those emotions? She couldn't quite tell from the surface, not from his willingness to help her, but then again Lyria was never one to shy away from someone... no matter how dangerous they seemed.
His answer did cause her to stop dead in her tracks, once again spinning around to face him.
From his expression she could easily see he was telling the truth, and that somehow made a small pang in her heart bump against her chest.]
Then... [ The girl begins before rummaging through her basket and pulling out a blue daisy from its contents. ] ... why don't you try this one!
[ With a smile the girl will retrace her steps to stand beside Sephiroth, offering the flower out to him. ]
I did say I wanted to show my appreciation to people... and that includes you, too! You're already helping me so much, so this is the least I can do!
