Sephiroth finds the change of scenery interesting, but it doesn't make this any better than the barge. Just a different kind of annoying. Though at least he doesn't have to deal with some of the others who are extra irritating.
"You focus too hard on what you can't currently change."
Since Zack continues to brood with concern over what happened. It's easy enough to see, Sephiroth doesn't even need any mind powers for that.
"It will not bring anyone back nor will it do anything to alter our current course."
Of course Sephiroth will give no response no matter how hard Zack shakes him. There's no life. And this of course will continue for several, what will probably be extremely long to Zack, minutes before he'll start to stir again.
Zack tries everything he’s ever been trained to do, but nothing works. There’s a miserable, sinking feeling in his chest as he looks at Sephiroth’s lifeless body, and he’s wiping roughly at his eyes when Zeke barks.
Sephiroth is stirring.
Zack immediately sits up and checks the pulse in his wrist.
Well, that sucked far more than he'd ever care to admit. Sephrioth pushes himself up to a sitting position.
"What happened?"
And why is Zack hovering over him looking overly distressed? He feels like he blacked out or something similar. Which is annoying, but nothing to get overly upset about.
Zack doesn’t say anything at first. His puppy paws at him a little, whines, and Zack lets him clamber into his lap. He’s grateful for that, but it doesn’t make the darkness in his eyes go away.
“I do know it,” is the sharp response. “All you ever tell me is that emotions are stupid so why would I think you care about how I feel? Or that you’d want to understand something you already threw away?”
"And what would you have done if I hadn't woken up?"
Sephiroth resists the urge to sigh again. Sometimes talking with Zack is frustrating. He's overly emotional. And irrational even if he's denying that right now.

"Yeah, well, I'm not going to not feel the way I feel."
He has always had strong emotions about things, and that isn't going to change.
no subject
This is why Sephiroth doesn't show any emotions so he can pretend not to have any.
no subject
"Yeah, because you're the expert on feelings."
no subject
In fact everything stops (for him) as he just kind of collapses over without any other warning.

"Sephiroth?" Zack shakes him. "Sephiroth?!"

He looks at Sephiroth, too, like he’s seen a ghost.
“You were dead. No pulse, nothing.”
no subject
That explains why Zack is so upset. Human emotion, it's such a fragile thing. Zack here right now is a perfect example of that frailty.
"Did anything else happen?"
no subject
“Well, I didn’t think you were going to, dumbass!”
Sephiroth can be so infuriating sometimes. He wipes at his face again roughly and stands up.
“And no, everything else is fucking fine, thanks for asking.”
no subject
"I assume the same didn't happen to you."
Or maybe Zack will also drop dead for a moment sometime soon. He'll have to keep watch just to see.
no subject
Excuse him, he’s just going to go sit down in his own spot with his dog, thanks. He’s still upset - and showing it more than he ordinarily would.
no subject
This is probably the least comforting thing Sephiroth can say to Zack. Bit it's true. They've both died. It's nothing new.
no subject
Zack glares at him.
“Oh, well, that makes it all better then, doesn’t it? We’ve both died before so who gives a shit if it happens again?”
no subject
"Are you afraid it will happen to you?"
Sephiroth doesn't particularly want it to happen to either of them. That would be inconvenient.
no subject
What a stupid question. If he was afraid to die, he wouldn’t have done what he had.
no subject
He folds his arms across his chest. There's no reason for him to have so much anger about what happened. If anyone needs to be angry, it's Sephiroth.
no subject
Finally, he says, “You wouldn’t understand.”
no subject
Sephiroth sighs and gestures lightly with his hand as he speaks, "You don't know that unless you tell me what this is all about."

Something he threw away ...
"It has to do with something in your past?"
no subject
He sounds even more upset now. Nice job, Sephiroth.
“I don’t care if you’ve died before, you dumbass! You were there, and then you weren’t, and for all I knew, you weren’t going to wake up!”
