He's too emotional. I'm not sure he can protect her.

She's barely more than a kid. If he's moving her away, I need to know he can look out for her.

She thinks she can take care of herself.

Doesn't everyone? If you don't think she can, you could always train her. Or train the one she wishes to be with so that he can protect her.

Seems far more productive than nailing him to a wall.

She isn't a soldier. He isn't either.

But it's not a bad idea. I could train Serah and she can train him. Isn't that how marriage is supposed to work?

I wouldn't know. I've never thought about getting married. But I'm sure you'd be able to transfer your skills over.

I never really had a family, so I suppose it just never came up. I had training and then the war to focus on.

Your parents didn't do you any favors, did they.

I lost my father when I was small and then my mother when I turned fifteen. I was the only one who could look after Serah.

I'm told my mother died in childbirth. My father is another story, one that I won't go into.

My condolences for your loss. It must have been hard losing so much at a young age.

You've had to deal with your own loss. I'm sorry about your mother.

I'm lucky. It's not like I've ever been completely alone. [Unless the crystal slumber for five hundred years counts.]

Your sister is lucky to have someone who wishes to protect her so strongly. I'm sure the person she wants to marry feels the same way. The two of you can protect her together.

Probably. I just need to get through that thick skull of his. I believe he loves her, but that isn't always enough.
