And no, Cloud was only an infantryman. He did later steal Zack's identity for awhile though. You should ask him about that sometime.

I was in SOLDIER -- at the very top, but not the same as the rest. I did not undergo the same enhancements the rest did.

'The top' meaning you administered the experiments?

No. By top I mean I was the hero everyone strives to be. No one could ever come close to matching my skills and strength.

Strength and skill don't make a hero.

What title would you give yourself?

Then being here must be some sort of nightmare.

I admit I do not care much for this place, but Cloud is here so it is only destiny that I shall be as well.

And when he leaves and you're still trapped?

He won't leave as he'd be far too afraid of what I might do.

He doesn't have as much choice in that as you think.

If he's forced off then I will kill the Admiral.

Mmhmm. I've seen how that plays out. He's already dead, the ship goes on. What else?

Why are you asking these questions?

Because I don't think you're as mindless and unimaginative as some other 'gods' we've had stroll through.

Hm. I imagine others feel as though they have something to prove. I do not. I know my strengths and I care little what others think.

[ukan]

They did try hard to make the rest of us fear them. Obviously, it didn't work when we all have unlimited lives, and if you stick around you become numb to chaos.

But back to my question: it's a very real possibility that Cloud will vanish, on his own or at the Admiral's pleasure. And it's a very real fact that you can't kill the Admiral. You can't even find him on the ship. So what do you do?

Kill every last person on this ship until I do.

[ukan]

Well, he doesn't care how many people you kill or how often, and we'll keep being revived, and he'll keep flying the ship. And without your powers? You would lose. That's why you aren't allowed to have them. Trust me, it's a very boring dead end to drive at.

So. What else?

In this hypothetical situation, the other alternative would be to game the system that's in place. Play whatever part is needed to get sent back.

[ukan]

It doesn't work. Everyone tries--placate the wardens, throw yourself into every helpful position you can, be kind to every person on board. Do everything anyone asks you to do. Everyone tries it if they're stuck here long enough.

Since you are so determined to declare whatever I say is wrong, again I will ask: what is the point behind this line of questioning?
