epistemological: (do you hear what you're saying?)

[personal profile] epistemological 2021-11-16 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
...so you've failed three times at whatever the hell you're trying to do and you're still calling me 'failure'?

I've only died the once, and got back up without this place, thank you very much, and I at least did what I set out to do.

Clearly you aren't unending because you're here. And clearly that isn't your story because again, you're here.

[ And, doing a passable impression of the tone. ]

But go on, continue to act as though you hold some sort of authority simply because... well, because you decided so.
epistemological: (the FUCK?)

How can you call me a puppet when you're walking around talking about 'destiny'?

What else is 'destiny' but playing out something you didn't even choose? It takes every bit of meaning from anything you do, anything you say, because it was 'fated'. Not chosen.

'Power' in and of itself doesn't mean anything if you're just some sort of- some doll being dragged through a play over and over. You aren't doing anything for that power. You're just a plaything.

This is your only chance to break a cycle and I think-

I think the reason you're so recalcitrant is because you're afraid. Afraid of something outside this 'destiny' of yours. Something that breaks the rules of everything you've decided is your lot in life.

Either you 'choose' not to be absorbed or it's 'destined' but you can't have both. So which is it, Mr. Sephiroth?

Or will you take your ball and go home again?
epistemological: (the whut now?)

That's not 'destiny'. That's attraction.

[ Even he knows that. ]

Either you choose... or it's destiny and you didn't.

Words do mean things, after all. So, with that said: are you a puppet, or just obstinate?

Destiny means puppet, for reference. And you can certainly be a voluntary puppet. I'm not saying you can't. But you should be honest with yourself about what you're doing.

Because I know what words mean?

My. We are sensitive.

[ A soft snort. ]

As you like. Take your ball and go home, as per usual.

If I wasn't worth your time, you wouldn't have felt the need to come and 'correct' me.

[ LOL. ]

But far be it from me to stop you from putting a bit of balm on your pride.
epistemological: (actual smile)

[personal profile] epistemological 2021-11-16 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
...do- do you think I think that?

[ That's a laugh. ]

I could say the same to you.
epistemological: (back of neck rub)

[personal profile] epistemological 2021-11-17 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, well, I do. Not about your rubbish opinions. But I care about you not ending up in the void.

Did you know about this place before you came here?
epistemological: (an aside)

[personal profile] epistemological 2021-11-19 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Not to be unkind, but that sounds very much like the answer is 'no'.

But also that that lack of fear is almost certainly predicated on not knowing what the hell is going on.
epistemological: (staring out blankly)

[personal profile] epistemological 2021-11-21 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
I can give you about a thousand reasons to fear the unknown. I just don't think that would be productive.

Fear is something I am intimately acquainted with. In fact, I would go so far as to say I'm something of an expert.

[personal profile] epistemological 2021-11-21 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Would you like the simple answer or the true one?

I'm not going to go into it properly if you're just asking me that for a lark.
epistemological: (sideeye)

[personal profile] epistemological 2021-11-21 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't lie to you. They just address the question differently.
